(TRADITIONAL HOUSE)

Perhaps many people are not familiar with our country, Indonesia, and maybe they just know Bali without knowing Bali is  part of  Indonesia. Actually  many tribes and cultures are not less appealing than Bali. One of them  is Karonese  in Northern Sumatra.
Indonesian  is famous country which have 17.508 islands dan rich cultures and languages. Certainly everyone who was born to the Earth is needs a religion and courteos hereditary. So everyone needs characteristic of  the culture.
North sumatra is a province to lain section of Sabang, majority of the population is Christian and  Bataknese culture . Maybe if  we listen about “batak” is  the same for everyone who don’t know about them, actually  Batak’s  cultures have spesific culture there is Batak Karo,Batak  Toba,Batak Simalungun, etc.

Iwas  born with Karonese culture and have family name “ Sitepu”, my last name or my clan which i heredited from my father. Every child (boy and girl) in Batak will have to bequeath clan’s name from father. Actually Batak culture must have child boy to hereditate  their title, because someday the batak men will continue clan’s name to his child and to arrive to grandchild.
Someone who has Karonese culture sometime does not want to be equated with other Batak  like Toba, because they  consider they have different culture with other Batak.
Karonese is famous with 5 clans ,karonese just has little clan but has specific clan in every clan ,there is Karo-Karo,Ginting,Sembiring,Tarigan and Perangin-angin.Everyone in Karonese who has same  gender and has same clan will be mutually calling each other as “senina”, it is meant they are a brother or sister, but  if they  have same clan and but different gender  they will be mutually calling each other as “turang” it is meant they can’t get married  because they are considered blood relatives,if it is violated it can lead to defects in the offspring. and if  a men and a woman who have different clan is mutually calling  each other as “impal “ it is meant they  can marry.
Marriage in karonese culture can be categorized expensive because the men have to buy the desired appropriate price by woman’s family, it’s more if a men are not karonese will marry a Karonese woman,so he must buy a clan in advance and follow the ceremony, after that he has surnames that will be passed down to his son someday. In Wedding ceremony karonese  culture there must be ceremoni, it is a form of respect for the population. average Karo cultural ceremonies is performed for 2-3 days  and it is done in the multipurpose building or in is village.

Because most karonese  people are  majority Christian it is not surprising that in traditional wedding ceremony a lot of food  may be prohibited for some religions such as pork and dog, it feels weird if  karo marriage customary that embrace Christianity  there is no food such as pork and dog, Talking about the typical karo food culture, karonese foods are babi panggang karo (bpk), goldfish arsik and Saksang . These are the three food that are always there in karo celebration , Karonese food is famous for  containing lots of spices ,that makes the food more rich in flavor.
